The project was let on February 16, 2021 and was awarded to Peterson Contractors Inc. of Reinbeck, Iowa for a cost of $228,224.50. The contract specifies a late start date of September 20, 2021. This means the contractor must begin on or before that date. The contractor will be allowed 20 working days to complete the project. The road will be closed to all traffic during construction and the project will take approximately 5-6 week for completion. An exact start date is not known at this time. Construction continues on County Home Road. Work is currently taking place at C Ave Ext in preparation for the roundabout. County Home Road remains closed to through traffic, but local traffic can still access their homes and businesses. The C Ave Ext intersection is completely closed. The N Center Point Road intersection is completely open. Access will not change much until paving starts later this summer. Please contact me with any questions. Edit: The project was let on March 9, 2021 and was awarded to Rathje Construction of Marion, Iowa for a cost of $1,369,862.35. The project consists of roadtop widening, flattening foreslopes, and culvert replacements in preparation for a new seal coat surface. The contract specifies a late start date of June 1, 2021. This means the contractor must start the project before that date. Once started, the contractor will have 75 working days to complete the project. The contractor has not provided a start date at this time.

Concrete paving on Shellsburg Road, Blairs Ferry Road, and Palo Marsh Road.
The concrete paving project near Palo is schedule to start appoximately on June 1 and be completed prior to August 6. The contractor will close Shellsburg Road and Blairs Ferry Road first, leaving Palo Marsh Road open initially. More details will be available as construction nears.
