Due to the number of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across the country and locally, Linn County has closed most buildings to the public to help reduce community spread of the virus and to help ensure continuity of County services.
The Linn County Secondary Road Department closes roads for the safety of the traveling public during road projects, extreme weather events, etc. The road may be closed to through traffic or closed tight, with no access at all. Our department sends out notification to the public safety agencies so that they can adjust in the event of an emergency. Drivers not following the road closure signs are putting themselves and workers in danger. If drivers do not follow the road closure signs, they may be ticketed or invoiced for any damages caused.
