Services During COVID-19
Due to COVID-19, Linn County has closed most County buildings to the public once again to help reduce community spread of the virus and to help ensure continuity of County services. The closure will remain in effect until public health conditions improve and allow for modifications.
To schedule an appointment or ride with LIFTS, please call 319-892-5170 or email LIFTS@linncounty.org.
In an effort to limit public interactions and protect the health of riders and drivers, Linn County LIFTS is prioritizing rides for essential needs, such as trips to the grocery store, employment, or medical needs.
Per federal law, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires proper wearing of face masks on public transportation. Face masks are to be worn at all times while riding LIFTS buses. Failure to comply may result in denial of rides on Linn County LIFTS.
Linn County LIFTS is a public transit service providing door-to-door rides for eligible elderly and disabled citizens in the metro area of Cedar Rapids, Marion and Hiawatha, and public transportation to all Linn County residents outside the metro area.
LIFTS is a paratransit service, with priority given to people who are unable to use city buses because of a disability or a disabling health condition.
LIFTS was established by Linn County and the City of Cedar Rapids to meet transportation requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
